Hawaiian Bedroom Decoration

When thinking of Hawaii, the image that instantly comes to mind is the Palm trees that sway in the breeze, the exotic flowers with bright colors, and even the surfboards or hula dancers, each of which is an example of a design or decoration. A few tips for a stylish Hawaiian Bedroom decoration are mentioned here

Walls – The Hawaiian bedroom decoration should yield a relaxing and soft look, while adding texture. A textured wallpaper or grass cloth can be added to the walls, which can be allowed to retain its natural color or can be painted with any color of one’s choice. Else, the walls can be given a faux treatment so that they resemble a woven texture.

Floors – The Hawaiian bedroom decoration for floors include bringing in additional texture through installation of commercial carpets on the floor. With various patterns being available, one can choose subtle or bold patterns and colors.

However, a commercial carpet would be better suited for a Hawaiian bedroom decoration, as it adds more texture and has a tighter weave than a traditional carpet.

Another option for Hawaiian bedroom decoration is sisal floor covering, which will render a more natural feel and look, though the commercial carpets are a softer alternative. A few throw rugs that are flower shaped, when thrown on top of commercial carpets, will add to the Hawaiian bedroom decoration.

Bedding – Hawaii, renowned for its bold floral print fabrics, available in various bright colors and earthy tones can be used for window treatments and bedding. The most popular flower being the Hibiscus, prints of either this, or other such popular flowers in bold fabrics can be used for a Hawaiian bedroom decoration, and it can be combined with other solid color fabrics with different textures for co-ordination.

Furniture – The furniture used for Hawaiian bedroom decoration should be simple and light-weighted. A unique headboard can be made by using nail bamboo reeds of different heights on a plywood piece. The same nail bamboo reeds can also be used for hanging window treatments. An additional seating in the bedroom can be made using wicker patio furniture.

Accessories – The wall art to be chosen for an Hawaiian bedroom decoration can include landscapes of sunrise or still life of flowers, or a creative wall treatment can be made by just stapling a Hawaiian fabric to any empty picture frame.

In case it is the children’s bedroom that needs a Hawaiian theme, a wall painting of sandy beaches and palm tree would be perfect, whereas for rendering an Hawaiian touch to an adult’s bedroom, pineapple candles and palm tree shaped lamp would be appropriate.

By decorating the bedroom with a Hawaiian theme, one can enjoy a mini vacation to Hawaii everyday.
